3 Simple Skin Tips For Travel Season
Fly Away But Don´t Forget Your Skin
Welcome to the busiest travel period of the year! Although it seems that TSA doesn’t always strictly enforce their 1 quart of liquids/gels/creams rule, I’ve heard horror stories of inflexible agents unceremoniously chucking my clients’ favorite creams. Even worse if you’re flying through the UK – Heathrow is notorious for their stringent inspections, and in Manchester I’ve had my carry on rifled through with a fine tooth comb. (Surprisingly, my extremely technical professional equipment never really piques their interest, despite the black and red cords that make me think of a certain airport-illicit four letter word.)
ANYway, I digress. This is about you, and your skincare, and how to make sure you’re keeping it up while you jet set wherever you’re going this holiday.
First order of business – secure thetravel sizes. I recently highlighted Reome’s new Skin Ceremony Set, which is a perfect-for-travel sized kit of their four incredible products. Some, like the Active Recovery Broth, are travel-friendly in their full size, however if space saving is what you’re after, just get the set and check it off your list.
Second – this is not the time to mess with your routine. I recommend sticking with your basics, bringing your tried and true products. It can be tempting to use up all the random samples and GWPs hanging around in your cabinet, but our skin likes to surprise up when we’re out of our routine. Don’t let it catch you off guard.
Last – pack for your destination, but consider your journey. Are you going from subzero temps to a tropical climate? You’ll need your favorite summer products for sure, but you’ll be in transition until you’re settled. Multitaskers are great for this. Think products you can layer, like Cosmetics 27 Huile 27.
Mix it with your moisturizer for the cold and dry travel days, then wear it alone once the humidity has your skin glistening.
Bonus tip – don’t forget to bring a silicone LED mask like the Light Salon Boost in your carry on. These masks are light, rechargable, and lay flat, making them incredibly easy to slide into your bag. Red LED is clinically proven to revitalize skin by boosting your ATP (cellular energy). You might feel jet-lagged, but your skin doesn’t need to!
