The Neurotris ‘Time Machine’
Advanced Microcurrent for Face and Body
We lovingly refer to the Neurotris SX-4500 as the ‘‘Time Machine’. This multi-channel dynamic microcurrent facial and body system is exceptional in the market. Using various frequencies and wave patterns, it has the ability to lift, tone and tighten face and body muscles. The abundance of channels allows us to treat the face and body simultaneously, without any reduction in intensity.
Microcurrent is the process of a voltage applied across a conductive material (skin), with one end being positive (+) and the other negative (-). Current is the movement of the electrons from one end to the other. This movement is measured in amperes or amps (symbol: A). Microcurrent is simply a small number of electrons that move from one end to the other.
Dynamic microcurrent, which is unique to Neurotris, features a constantly evolving intelligent bilateral feedback loop that optimizes the signal based on an individual’s skin at the time of treatment. From the first sweep of the electrode, the machine is reading the hydration and density of the skin, and using a patented algorithm to maintain a constant signal. This consistent delivery of current improves cellular function and cellular respiration, breathing new life into the skin to improve luminosity, volume and firmness.
The multi channel signaling allows for more performance volume of the signals per square millimeter of skin surface area being treated with their four-prong Pico Probes (aka The Claw). One sweep of the Pico Probes is equal to four sweeps of any other single channel system.
The single prong Infinity Probes make it possible to lift, tone and tighten very specific areas of the face. They can help plump the lips to eliminate smokers lines around the mouth, and around the eye to offer a lid lift and reduce under eye puffiness.
The Neurotris machine also performs superficial skin surfacing, including minimizing crepiness on the decollete, and toning and tightening the arms, legs and buttocks. It can also improve and reduce the appearance of cellulite on the body. The same dynamic microcurrent settings will increase blood and lymphatic flow, flushing out the fluid in the fat cells, which shrinks them in size.

Benchmark electro-sonic technology

Dr. Vodder Manual Lymphatic Drainage
Developed in the 1930s by Danish physician Dr. Emil Vodder, this method of Manual Lymphatic Drainage is considered to be the gold standard of lymph manipulation. Raquel holds an Advanced Certification in Face & Neck Manual Lymphatic Drainage in the Vodder Method.
The human body contains 400-600 lymph nodes, approximately 200 of which are in the face and neck. The lymphatic system is a one-way system, circulating fluid throughout the entire body, cleaning and filtering this fluid in each of the lymph nodes, all before returning it back into the circulatory system where the process begins anew. The movement of lymph is essential in maintaining health. It maintains blood pressure, filters and traps dusts and dyes that cannot be processed by the body, aids in the transport of white blood cells to fight infection, and removes cellular waste products.
Using extremely gentle, precise and repetitive movements along the lymphatic pathways of the face and neck, this technique helps to clear blockages and drain stagnant fluids. The cosmetic results are plentiful and include de-puffing the face, reducing inflammation and redness from rosacea, acne, and dermatitis, draining sinus congestion, brightening the eyes, and reducing heaviness in the lower face due to fluid accumulation.
However, Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD for short) is much more than a cosmetic treatment. The systemic effects are profound. Not only does MLD reduce inflammation, but the gentle and repetitive movements can activate the parasympathetic nervous system, helping to calm the body and mind, improve digestion, reduce jet lag, and improve the quality of sleep. MLD also boosts immune function, facilitating the germination of new white blood cells. Finally, studies have proven that 30 minutes of the specific movement used in Vodder MLD can have an analgesic effect. The mechanoreceptors in the skin can override the nociceptors, effectively telling the brain that there is no pain.
MLD is safe for all ages, from infanthood to old age. Clients who should not receive MLD include clients with acute infections, cancer diagnosis within the past 5 years (MLD may be performed with a doctor’s note), pregnancy within the first trimester, thrombosis, and congestive heart disease. It is strongly recommended for 24 hours post-MLD to abstain from exercise, heat or other treatments known for stimulating blood circulation, as increased blood circulation will interrupt the lymphatic drainage that was activated during treatment.
Intra-Oral Massage
Intra-Oral massage, also known as Trans-Buccal massage, is the technique of massaging the face through the oral cavity. The primary benefit to working intra-orally is the therapist’s ability to access the intricate muscular network of the lower and midface from another angle. Raquel holds a Certification in NeoLifting from Pro-Age Aesthetics Academy.
Massage in any form offers countless benefits. Massage relaxes tight muscles, increases blood circulation, can sculpt and lift facial muscles, and over time can assist in muscular reeducation. Tightness and tension in any muscle results in reduced blood flow, which in turn limits the delivery of oxygen and nutrients to the surrounding tissues and impedes lymphatic flow. When this tension is held in muscles of the face, not only will this impact the health of these tissues, but there will be cosmetic consequences as well. The path of least resistance is at play here – when muscles are knotted into expressions such as frowning or furrowing, the lines will become more deeply etched into the face. Intentional massage movements will release this tension, relaxing expression lines and improving flow.
Many people hold stress in their jaw or suffer from TMJ. This tension in the masseter muscle can radiate into the surrounding muscles, creating tightness and pain. By massaging the face intra-orally, we are able to provide relief from this tension, relaxing the muscles of the jaw, mouth, cheeks and chin, and even the muscles above and between the eyes. The results can look and feel incredible. The face shape can be slimmed and lifted, lips and cheeks plumped, eyes more awake and jawline pronounced. Some clients may also benefit from Intra-Oral Manual Lymphatic Drainage, as the oral cavity provides deeper access to the vast network of lymph nodes that can become impacted from facial tension.
Intra-Oral massage is performed with non-latex gloves that are changed throughout the treatment to avoid contamination. Some areas may feel tender depending on the degree of tension held in those muscles, however in general Intra-Oral massage feels incredibly relaxing. Raquel works slowly and gently with clients new to Intra-Oral massage, and communicates throughout to ensure their physical and emotional comfort.
