Travel Calls for Smaller Versions of Your Favorite Skincare
It’s Travel Time!!! In the months of June, July and August, seemingly everyone packs up and goes – Italy, France, Greece… I’m hearing Portugal more and more. Or maybe the trip is more local, like the Adirondacks or Maine. Regardless of where your summer holidays take you, one universal fact remains: you have to figure out how to transfer your home beauty routine into a travel (and possibly carry-on) friendly version of itself.
What was once a last minute trip to the travel aisle of your local drugstore or a rifle through the sachets you’ve accumulated over the years can and should be both easier and elevated.
Enter The Minis.
Some of our favorite brands have adorably travel sized versions of their top-selling products, and I’ve taken the liberty of crafting the perfect travel routine for you. ☺️
1. Cleanse with Cleanser 27. It’s a balm cleanser (read: oil cleanser but in solid form) with tiny little micronized bamboo particles for the gentlest polish. Fantastic for removing makeup and most importantly, sunscreen.
2. Tone with The Solution. Magic Molecule’s The Solution is a hypochlorous acid spray that is incredibly gentle yet packs a punch – use it to decrease redness, fight acne, soothe dermatitis and eczema, treat itchy bug bites, clean cuts and scrapes. Literally the perfect vacation companion.
3. Hydrate with Essence 27. I describe the consistency of this product as a heavy water. It’s a powerful hydration booster in an incredibly lightweight texture. Perfect for summer when you’re hot and sweaty and don’t want a bunch of heavy layers.
4a. Moisturize with Baume 27 (available in Crème Riche and Crème Légère formulas). This is an all-time favorite product for year-round use on multiple skin types. Deeply moisturizing and soothing and fantastic for sensitive skin. Choose Crème Riche if you have drier skin or will be in low humidity, or choose Crème Légère if you have oilier skin or will be in high humidity. Easy peasy.
4b. Or, moisturize with Kaya Anti-Aging Oil. Maybe you prefer an oil over a cream. If that’s the case, I have the perfect one for you. Costa Brazil recently revived their beloved Kaya Anti-Aging Face Oil and it’s the ideal size for travel. I especially love this oil for oily and acne-prone skin, as there is tea tree oil in the formula which is antibacterial and anti inflammatory.
5. Protect from UV damage with Mesoprotech Light Water Antiaging Veil. This SPF 50 is extremely lightweight and not drying!! Nothing worse than chalky sunscreen face, IMO. Just remember to reapply 😉
6. Care for your hair with The Minis from Iles Formula. This adorable little kit has their three signature steps – Shampoo, Conditioner and Finishing Serum. Literally all you need.
